CAMP THAILAND OFFERS 2 DISTINCT PROGRAMS FOR TRAINEE & PROFESSIONAL NURSES, DOCTORS, OTHER MEDICAL& HEALTHCARE WORKERS AND MEDICAL STUDENTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD TO PUT THEIR MEDICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO GOOD USE WHERE IT AND YOUR LOVING CARE IS MOST NEEDED AND APPRECIIATED IN POOR COMMUNITIES IN RURAL VILLAGES IN RURIRAM AND SURIN PROVINCES IN THE ISARN REGION, THE HEART OF THAILAND IN NORTH EAST THAILAND.
Whichever Camp Thailand Healthcare program you choose to participate in the tasks that you will perform will largely depend on your level of experience. Some of the typical tasks include helping to teach Thai Medical Staff General English and English for the medical profession and the following tasks:

EP9 Program 1: CAMP THAILAND ONE WEEK VOLUNTEER HEALTHCARE PROGRAM IN BURIRAM, THAILAND.
This is offered as a one week long, specialized elective program that normally commences on the first day following the conclusion of your regular Camp Thailand intake. If you have elected to take part in the Elephant Conservation and/or the Island-Hopping tour, provisions can be made so that you can start this elective at a time other than the first day following the conclusion of your regular Camp Thailand Intake.
EP9Program 1 (5 Nights,6 days incl. Accommodation) requires an additional Fee of 9,900 THB approx. $299 USD or approx. 227 GBP
EP9 Program 2: CAMP THAILAND 3-WEEK VOLUNTEER HEALTHCARE PROGRAM IN BURIRAM, THAILAND.
Due to popularity of the one-week Elective Volunteer Camp Thailand Health Care program we have now expanded this offering and offer a 3-week Volunteer Camp Thailand Healthcare Program as an alternative to our regular 3-week Camp Thailand General Volunteer Teacher Program. It includes all the features of the General Volunteer Teacher Program except that instead of doing TEFL training and volunteer English teaching in schools you get to put your medical skills to work as a volunteer in Hostpitals, Clinics, Schools, Small Rural Healthcare facilities and even people’s homes.
DAILY ITINERARY for CAMP THAILAND 3-WEEK VOLUNTEER HEALTHCARE PROGRAM in BURIRAM, ISARN REGION, NORTH-EAST THAILAND
Day 1: Program Start date with pickup from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport at 2 p.m.
Day 2: Bangkok Tour
Day 3: Travel to Camp B by train or coach (Leave the hotel at 8.30 a.m. and the train departs at 10.04 a.m.)
Day 4: Day trip to Surin Lake
Day 5: THAI HEALTHCARE ORIENTATION+ THAI LANGUAGE LESSON + Muay Thai Boxing Session
Days 6, 7 and 8: Putting your much needed, Healthcare Skills to good use in in Hostpitals, Clinics, Schools, Small Rural Healthcare facilities and even people’s homes.
Day 9: Visit to, with overnight stay at, Country Roads’ Elephant Freedom Conservation Project. Visit www.ElephantFreedom.me to learn more about this ethical Elephant program.
Day 10: Help with Medical Check-ups for local children and “Mahouts” at “Elephant Village” in the morning. Free time in the Afternoon & Evening
Day 11: Free Day and Evening for you to explore and enjoy your local surroundings
Day 12: Continued Healthcare Orientation + THAI LANGUAGE LESSON #2 + Medical Check-ups continued.
Days 13 and 14: Putting your much needed, Healthcare Skills to good use in in Hostpitals, Clinics, Schools, Small Rural Healthcare facilities and even people’s homes.
Day 15: Visit to, with overnight stay at, Silk Village
Day 16: Thai cooking Demonstration followed by BBQ and Sky Lantern lighting at a local lake
Day 17: Medical-Check-ups in the morning. Travel to Koh Samet in the evening
Days 18, 19, and 20: Hang out and explore the exotic island of Koh Samet.
Day 21: Time to say “Au Revoir” (Unless doing the optional Camp Thailand Island Hopping Tour or the week long, Elephant Conservation Volunteer program) and travel to Bangkok
Cambodia Tour: Days 14, 15, 16 & 17. If you have signed up for the Cambodia tour you will miss the Camp B activities scheduled for Days 14 to 17 but you will have an opportunity to do the visit to, and overnight stay at, the Silk Village, scheduled for Day 15 on Day 11 instead, if you wish to partake in this program included activity.
N.B. We have secured a group rate for participants travelling back to Bangkok from Koh Samet on Day 21. Should you decide to travel without the rest of the group on Day 21 you will be responsible for your own transportation costs back to Bangkok.
